Cilantro-Hummus with Jalapenos

This is a very simple, easy and inexpensive Dip- full of Nutrients, and Goes great with Lavash Bread or Thin Pita Bread. A Great Middle eastern dish to use as a starter. You may want to try without Jalapeno for Kids.

I use Canned Garbanzo beans instead of buying raw, soaking them over night and boiling it for hours.

Hummus has become popular in Western Countries and you can buy ready made in stores for much higher price and of course not as fresh as Home made.

You will need: A Blender, Mixing bowl, measuring spoons and a Serving bowl.

This recipe uses Tahini ( available in Middle Eastern Markets) which is made of Sesame seeds- check for Allergies- if allergic of Sesame seeds, please do NOT use Tahini- (you can try Greek Yogurt as a substitute.- about 1/4 Cup- and 1 T lemon Juice only)

I have tried keeping it for two days in the Refrigerator and it was OK. This recipe makes about 2 cups of Dip.

Once you have an idea of taste, you can add or lessen the items.
