Falafal-Fusion Salad

I  Made Falafal Fusion Salad. This is also a great Vegan Dish. This is NOT fried.

THIS RECIPE SERVES 4 TO 6 PEOPLE

This is very easy to make and you can use substitutes if some items are not available.

The process seems long but it really does not take long-there are many ingredients.

Made paste from Green frozen Fava beans they are large beans larger than soya beans- Edamame- but flatter , put them in blender, added Chickpeas flower, water, added dry Vegetable mix from Middle eastern Store- this is called “Subzi-Ash”- this is a dry mixture of many types of parsley leaves, added salt and garlic powder-made small patties and pan-fried them, bought thinner version of  Pita Bread,  Salsa taquera, Salsa Verde, Tahini Sauce-made at home, Tahini Sauce:

Tahini Sauce:

1/4 Cup Tahini- Jar available in Middle Eastern Market-stir the paste well before using as there will be oil floating on top.Add 2 Tablespoon Lemon Juice, 1/4 Cup water- Yogurt( optional)-add 1 Tablespoon plain Yogurt, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon sugar-mix and keep-it will thicken.

Chopped  green Mexican peppers, pomegranate,  onions- sauted- till they turn slightly brown and soft, If you do not want to Saute, you can use fresh chopped Onionshredded lettuce, Chopped Tomatoes and, Avacados. With all the yummy items, it looked wonderful,  tasted good and my guests had more than one helping but did not feel heavy. Made me very happy.

Success.!! The preparation seems long but once the falafel mix paste is done it is easy.

Important to let the beans thaw and then put them in blender-you may have to add some water.tahini Sauce  is most important-easy to make. Falafal ready mix is also available in most Supermarkets in The USA. and many other Countries.

Most of the items are store-bought so it was easy to assemble. This recipe is for 4 to 6 people-can be doubled.

I used Fava beans,  for easier Recipe, you can use Falafal mix( follow direction on package) if it available. Fava beans may not be available-you can use Edamame or Green peas- I used frozn packet and thawed it-do not put in water it may be too soft.I use Chick peas-Chana-flour. If not available, you can use ready Hammus or Drained Canned Garbanzo beans.

If you are using the Falafal Mix from store-please dod not usesalt and Fruit salt or baking Soda.
