Brown Rice Krispies( Crispies) with Agave

pinit

This is a snack dish which is sweet but not like a desert or a sweet Bar. It is very easy and uses only Agave Nectar. Agave Nectar is a Natural sweetener-like a syrup. It comes from a plant. You can buy this in the Wholesale warehouse stores or any specialty store.

I wanted to make something sweet and crunchy but not use sugar.. I like to experiment with different ingredients so I decided to go to Cereal area in one of the Stores. Found a Bag of Brown Rice Crispy- there was no sugar added or any other items. So I brought a bag home-there were about 8 cups of Rice Crispies. I used 6 cups but you can use all 8 cups. You may have to add a little more Agave and a bit more Oil.

I made some and gave to a friend and she loved it so much…she gave a little to her sister who is diabetic-she liked it and since there was very little sugar. She asked me for the recipe and it became popular in her family so she asked me to put it on the blog so others can make it. It is a very easy recipe. You can eat as snacks any time you have craving for sweet. The best thing is, you can add or reduce the Agave. Make it sweet to your taste. Be careful not to use too much of Agave or it will become chewy.

I used a large 8 by 10 inch baking pan.

Lined it with Foil. Mixed the ingredients and baked it. I use Convection Oven and used Bake Button, but a regular Oven works just as good. Make sure to put the pan on the middle rack. Gently mix every 5 minutes. Let is stay in them Oven about 5 minutes after the Oven is off. Cool it and gently crumble it-this is like sweet Cereal without sugar, and Store in air tight container-Do not store in the refrigerator.

This is good for about 8 to 10 days.

Hope you enjoy it too.
